Laura’s research\, funded by a series of prestigious awards from the EU and UK government\, also explores organisational\, cultural and identity change; growth and leadership transitions\, mergers and acquisitions; professional careers; partner evaluation and reward systems; and the changing nature of professional work. \nIn addition to dozens of publications in leading academic journals\, she has published several books with Oxford University Press – her latest is Leading Professionals: Power\, Politics\, and Prima Donnas (reprinted in paperback\, 2022). \nLaura writes regularly for Harvard Business Review and presents the podcast series\, Leading Professional People. She has been nominated for the Thinkers 50 Leadership Award for her research on collective leadership. \nShe advises many of the world’s leading law\, accounting\, and consulting firms. From 2013 to 2016 Laura served on the Board of KPMG LLP (becoming Chair of the Independent Non-Executives). \nShe was previously Associate Professor at the University of Oxford. EC1A 7JN \nSimon Fanshawe OBE\, Rector of Edinburgh University\, partner in Diversity by Design \nNelarine Cornelius\,  Associate Dean\, People Culture\, and Inclusion\, Queen Mary University  \nEfforts by organisations to promote diversity and inclusion are falling into disrepute with many senior leaders because they are not delivering value to staff\, customers\, and shareholders.  Leaders generally want to tackle discrimination and open-up opportunity in their companies\, but the work has itself proved politically charged and potentially divisive. \nMany leaders want EDI to be taken off the political football pitch. It has become caught between an ‘anti-woke’ gang who want to tear the whole edifice down and self-described ‘progressives’\, who want to impose rules on their colleagues in the name of EDI that can seem dogmatic\, and (to some) frankly daft. The Ceremony will take place at 1200 prior to Lunch at the Hall. \nIn addition\, Freemen of the Company who are attending the Freedom of the City Declaration Ceremony at the Guildhall will also join this lunch. \nThis event is open to any Member of the Company and their guests \nTimings: \nFor those making Freedom of the City Declaration at the Guildhall – 1130 (arrive at The Guildhall by 1115) \nFollowing the Freedom Ceremony\, then make your way to Ironmongers Hall for a reception and lunch. Pease arrive at Ironmongers’ Hall for 1230 \nFor those making HR Company Freemen and Member Declarations arrive at Ironmongers’ Hall by 1200. \nBoth groups of Declarants will join together at 1230 for a glass of sparkling wine followed by lunch \nThis includes: Glass of sparkling wine\, 3 course lunch and Half a bottle of house wine (there is a £7 supplement for Beef). \n
